Bheema 2008
Just saw the movie;”Bheema” a one-man show of Vikram(Sekhar). Looks like he has built his physique for the movie.Prakash Raj(Chinna) and Raghuvaran are the leaders of the two rival gangs and play their roles in their characteristic styles. Somehow the usual Prakash Raj magic is missing.Nice to see “Thalaivasal” Vijay back( as Saamy) in his role as a right hand to Prakash Raj.
I don’t know where tamil movies are really going! Where are movies with good scripts ?
Seethu and Pithamagan seemed to have good scripts I guess!
Anyways, the song Ooru Mugam is good to hear!
An average movie based on action and gang violence. Not worth a watch!

Churchill Square on Family Day
After visiting the Assembly I just went to see what events are going on at the Churchill Square and spent a few minutes around.
There were lots of people around and children were playing ice skates,it looked very much like the exhibition on Island Grounds in Chennai,(with no exhibition in the real sense, but seemed people/children were having a goodtime).
Anyways, there was something cooking which I found interesting. It’s bannock a bread that has a native american origin I guess! Many people were interestingly cooking it on fire and enjoying it.
Here are some pictures from Churchill Square in Edmonton on Family Day!

Family Day Events at the Alberta Legislature
So,I went to check out some of the events at the Alberta Legislature on family day today .Having seen the NS legislature in Halifax, I really wanted to see a tour of the legislative assembly in Edmonton. There were lots of family making the visit, many wanting to spend the holiday time worthwhile. The tour guide took us on a 20 minute tour of the assembly and it was quite interesting. The building as such looks beautiful with a beautiful fountain on the second floor.
There is also a lego model of the legislature inside the building which is quite beautiful and looks very meticulously done. The “Legoslature” stands at 1 meter high and is constructed from 120,000 LEGO parts. The model was created by the Northern Alberta LEGO Users and it took them more than 3,000 hours to complete.
Looks like the general public can make a visit when the assembly is in session.I would surely like to visit when the house is in full session when an interesting topic is on debate;but guess what, one has to wait for sometime after the provincial elections on March 3rd.
Here are some pictures in and around the place.

Alberta Family Day 2008
Wow,the folks here get a day of Holiday today. It is a holiday to recognize the values held by the pioneers who built Alberta and the values of home and family.I guess Alberta was the only province in Canada to have a statutory holiday in February! now Saskatchewan and Ontario have one as well.
I remember writing a post while in Halifax, about a debate that was going on ,as to whether Feb19 will be a holiday or not in NS. I guess things haven’t changed there!
Anyways, there’s lots of events going on in the city on Family Day;like the Family Fun at the Alberta Legislature ,at the Churchill Square etc..
The weather seems pretty good today,it’s -5Degree C and the sun is out.So, take part, have fun and enjoy!
