Curry Village

If you like Indian food, try curry village on Breton Place. It is close to downtown and the food is better than the Taj Mahal. Sad to say there are only two Indian restaurants in Halifax,NS, so not much choices!

I like their Naans, but have to say you will have to wait for them to serve as I think they prepare once they get the order.

Thanks D for the invitation !

Opa Greek Taverna

This is my second visit to the Opa restaurant on Argyle Street in downtown Halifax since last year and the menu list seems to be the same with no great addition  especially on the vegetarian side. If you are allergic to some food, do let the server know. Not much  (no meat/eggless)vegetarian choices. The decor is delightful;the sun floods in through the glass in the restaurant’s high ceilings and onto its walls with a slight chilly breeze from the outside through the windows. The food is O.K and the portion sizes are huge. ;)

The Argyle Bar & Grill

The decor is loud, but the menu is small but inventive. It is a nice cozy relaxing restaurant.I had the Bruschetta Bread,an Italian bread drizzled with olive oil, garlic, marinated tomatoes, parmesan and herbs while my friend tried the spicy spaghettini. The bruschetta bread was good,so as the spaghettini. Price is similar to the Old triangle and I must mention that the food is better than the old triangle. ;)

The Old Triangle Irish Alehouse

headache.jpg

If it’s Irish pub you’re after, stop by the Old Triangle on Prince street in Downtown Halifax.I don’t drink so all I can say is the food was Ok.

I tried the celtic burger with salad this time when I went with colleagues I work with. I don’t know why, the food doesn’t suit me; this has been two times in a row. I had to go get a Honey Lemon Tea at Tim Hortons to feel better.   (

So,the food is a “no no” for me.

Satisfaction Feast

satisfaction_feast-small.jpg

Thanks, goes to a friend and former co-op(masters co-operative education) supervisor, for inviting me for lunch today. This is my first visit to “Satisfaction Feast”;  a totally vegan and vegetarian restaurant. .You  have to keep looking on Grafton street in downtown Halifax to actually find this place.Overall,I should say, the vegan carrot cilantro soup was good ,as well as the vegetarian samosa. The vegan mocha truffle was okay.

I haven’t yet found ,  “the restaurant ” that  has great  and excellent vegetarian food in Halifax.
