Prairie Gardens at Bon Accord,Alberta
Happy Thanksgiving to my friends who celebrate this day!
I had the opportunity today to go with my friend and colleague and her family to Prairie Gardens, a 35-acre destination pumpkin farm and corn maze located at Bon Accord about 25 minutes from Edmonton.
It was fun to see the pumpkin canon and walk through the corn maze.
If you are vegetarian or vegan, pack some lunch with you since the menu there does not have much vegetarian or vegan choices, and the only thing one can try is the potato banana garlic and dill fry, which is good!
Here are some pictures.

Edmonton’s High Level Streetcar
So,I had a chance of travelling on the high level streetcar today and it was truly a ride into Edmonton history. It was a short travel though.
It was nice to look at the skyline of downtown Edmonton when the street car crosses over the top deck of the High Level Bridge – the highest streetcar river crossing in the world, over 800M (½ mile) long and 48M (156 ft) high. Great view to look down on the North Saskatchewan River.

Edmonton Heritage Festival
It’s a long weekend in Edmonton and I visited the Heritage festival at the William Hawrelak Park today.
It was for sure bigger than the Multi Cultural Festival in Halifax with a lot of different cuisines from different countries. I enjoyed some of the live music and dance performances, food, and cultural exhibits and should mention the Knock School of Irish Dancers, they were amazing.
I had a chance to try some chapman’s fudge icecream at the festival and langos from the Hungarian tent .The langos is simply a round and flat bread-puff (made of, flour, butter, yeast and salt ) deep-fried in oil and garnished with powdered sugar. It was too oily for me after a few bites though, but the icecream was Ok.
Here are some pictures from the Heritage Festival.

Shri Jagannatha Ratha Yatra
I visited the Sri Radha Govindaji Temple today, and the temple is preparing for their annual ratha yatra this year on August 31 from 11am to 2p.m .Don’t know how they did it last year but I guess it will be great event.
The temple has bought in idols specially designed from puri and I had a darshan of lord jagannath, balarama and subhadra.
So ,if you are visiting Edmonton do visit the temple and join in for the chariot festival in August.
